Man Hit, Killed By Car In Prince George's County
A 53-year-old Hyattsville man was hit by a car when he was crossing the road July 5. He succumbed to his injuries four days later.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 53-year-old Hyattsville man was died July 9 after he was hit by a vehicle July 5. The incident occurred in the 8000 block of Barlowe Road near Palmer Park.
According to the Prince George's Police Department, Jackie Monroe was found lying in the road at approximately 10:40 p.m. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that Monroe was in the roadway and attempting to cross the street when he was struck by a car heading westbound on Barlowe Road. Monroe was not in a crosswalk at the time, according to the police. The driver remained on the scene following the collision, a news release stated.
