• Attorney General Brown Announces Sentencing of Former DPSCS Correctional Staff in Contraband Schemes at Jessup Correctional Institution (smnewsnet.com) — State prosecutors have sentenced three former staff members at Jessup Correctional Institution in nearby Anne Arundel County for smuggling drugs, phones, and other contraband into the prison. Officials say the schemes, which involved inappropriate relationships and large quantities of narcotics, undermined security at the Jessup facility. Several incarcerated co-defendants have already pleaded guilty, with two more trials set for later this month.
