Residents near Joppatowne are urged to avoid the area, expect emergency vehicles and possible delays, and watch for changing air quality conditions while officials investigate the cause.
   

• Amtrak Advances Planning for Replacement of Bush and Gunpowder River Bridges in Maryland (amtrak.com) — Major upgrades are moving forward for Amtrak’s Bush and Gunpowder River bridges, including the span located between Chase and Joppatowne, which carries more than 100 daily trains. The replacements aim to boost reliability, allow higher speeds, and reduce delays that can ripple through service used by Joppatowne-area commuters along the Northeast Corridor.
