• MARC Train launches new direct service between Montgomery County, Baltimore (dcnewsnow.com) — Kensington commuters will soon get a direct weekday MARC Train link to Baltimore starting Sept. 28, with one morning train to the city and one evening return. The new Brunswick-Camden run-through is expected to cut travel times by up to an hour and finally offers a one-seat ride across Rockville, Gaithersburg, Laurel, and Baltimore.
   

• Police investigating death of man who jumped from I-495 overpass (thebanner.com) — Kensington residents are being told more about Sunday's fatal incident on the I-495 overpass in town, where an 18-year-old driver fled a crash and jumped about 50 feet to Stoney Brook Drive. State police say no one was hurt in the initial collision, and a trooper tried life-saving measures before the man was pronounced dead.
