March Melodies

   I  stroll  today  in  the  warm  mist  thru  my  backyard,

        listening  to  a  symphony  of  flower  notes

    all  in  perfect  harmony.  Crocus  are  in  chorus  together

         on  the  coronet  of  color;  bending  low  my  ear  attunes

     to  the  snow  drops  of  earlier  days  whispering  gently 

          as  a  muted  timpani.

      Jonquils are  loudly blowing  their  colorful  trumpets 

          of  glorious  yellows,  oranges;  heralding  an  early  spring  season.

      Hyacinths  are  beautifully  speaking  this  day  of  the  warming

          changes  in  the  season.  Invigorated  by  the  glories

      surrounding  me,  I  walk  briskly  to  a  fast  flowing  Rock  Creek

           and  there  discover  underneath  the  leaves,  several  patches

      of  snow  drops  resting  in  Spring's  early  bursting!
