Day of the Book Festival Takes Over Town Tomorrow
Here's a rundown of Day of the Book activities.

, Kensington's festival has finally arrived. Tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain or shine) people from town and nearby communities will hit the streets of the Antique District to peruse books offered from local authors, live music, family fun and more.
Events are set up throughout the day for adults and children. Everyone is invited to watch (or challenge) International Chess Master Allan Savage take on six to eight chess matches at once. Book evaluations will be held throughout the day, as well as an open mic (where people can read snippets of their work), and .
Adults are invited to learn how to promote books and business by using the web at 12:30 and 2 p.m. The members of Choas to Clarity will suggest tips and strategies on how to best use social media, blogs and websites.

Children can learn how to create a cartoon character at 1 p.m. at K. Michael Crawford's tent. Crawford is a children's book writer and illustrator. Then at 1:30 p.m. children can venture over to the storytelling tent to listen to The Twinbrook Tellers—a group of children ages five to 14—tell tales or play a storytelling game. Additionally, throughout the day, children can participate in a scavenger hunt, create bookmarks and Origami, or meet Susie the dog, star of "Susie's Hope."
The Nighthawks will perform with special guest, author George Pelecanos, in addition to performances by Doris Justis, the 2nd Story Band and more. View the schedule below to not miss your favorite local band.
