ORGAN RECITAL THIS SUNDAY
Christ Episcopal Church, Kensington, 10000 blk of Connecticut at Everett, has recently installed a 74 stop custom designed Allen digital organ.  Allen is the largest organ building company in the world.   According to their principal organ representative here in the D.C. metropolitan area, this may very well be the finest organ the company has ever designed.   The tonal design is principally due to Albert Russell, long-time organist and choirmaster at St. John's Lafayette Square.   He was assisted in this project by James Robert Catlette, organist and choirmaster at Christ Church and Ken Saliba of Allen organ. 
ON OCTOBER 30TH. AT 5:00 PM.there will be a service of Collect, Song, and Psaltery celebrating this magnificent instrument.  Principal players throughout the service include Dr. Kyle Babin (winner of an International Prize at the St. Albans Cathedral -England- competition in 2011.  Dr. Babin was one of twelve organists invited to compete worldwide.)  Other organists include Mr. Russell, Mr. Adam Graham, Mr. Catlette, and Mr. Gary Davison.  The latter, who is the Organist and Choirmaster at St. Francis in Potomac has created an original composition of Psalm 96 designed to demonstrate the versatility of the instrument and the Christ Church choir.
Your presence is warmly invited.   Proceeds from the offertory will be split to benefit the Bishop Walker School, a school for inner city boys, and the Christ Church choral scholars program.   Please consider bringing friends and neighbors to this significant music event.
p.s.   Was it mentioned that there will also be a tympanist, trumpet player, cymbal expert?   All are mentioned in the Psalms so they just had to surface during this service.
