Poetry Event: “Lyrical Rhythms: The Sounds of Freedom”

Department of Parks Manager Shirl Spencer describes this event as  "our first ever live spoken word, poetry event.”

Local poets will read their works on the all subjects related to slavery, freedom, the Underground Railroad, Rev. Josiah Henson and other topics related to the African-American experience.

The poetry reading will be followed by a reception. Light refreshments will be served.
