THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is the Tony-Award winning “Musical Within a Comedy” that had Broadway audiences grinning from ear to ear in its 600-performance run in 2006-2007. It’s a zany and affectionate valentine to the old-fashioned musical comedies of the 1920s – a time when the theatre wanted nothing more than to entertain.
In DROWSY, we meet the reclusive theatre lover known only as “Man in Chair”, who loves nothing more than listening to his old records of Broadway shows. When he shares his recording of “The Drowsy Chaperone” with the audience, the whole show comes to life in his living room! Packed with hilarious characters and terrific, brassy music, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is undoubtedly one of the most loveable and audience-friendly shows of the last decade.
Albert Einstein High School will perform at 7:00 pm on March 16, 17, 22, 23, and 24, and at 3:00 pm on March 18.
