Kids' Read-a-thon Kicks Off to Support Noyes Library

Read, read, read while raising funds to enhance Noyes Library!

A kid-fueled fundraiser to support the Noyes Children’s Library in Kensington, Md., begins April 1, 2015, as readers and pre-readers (parents read to children) pore through books with a purpose. Pledges per page from adult sponsors will go towards renovations to Noyes to create a library that is a model of universal accessibility and a center for early literacy and children’s literature.

The Pennies-a-Page Read-a-thon is open to all ages and is sponsored by the Noyes Children’s Library Foundation. Participants use the Read-a-thon pledge form (available on www.noyeslibraryfoundation.org) to record their reading from April 1-21, then collect donations from April 21-25.

The Read-a-thon caps off with a dance party on April 25, 2015, 3-5PM, at Kensington Town Hall
, 3710 Mitchell St., Kensington, MD. All are welcome at the dance party. Admission is $5, $20/family max, with free admission to anyone with a completed Read-a-thon form. Children can come dressed as their favorite storybook character and prizes will be handed out.
