Old Town Gears Up for Third Thursday

More local businesses are onboard for the event's second iteration.

Tomorrow, Kensington will again celebrate Third Thursday, with Old Town businesses staying open to offer deals and host events.

From 5 to 8 p.m., you can duel with a chessmaster, save money on dinner, hear live poetry and create some art. Here are a few of the deals and events available tomorrow:

  • is hosting , who will battle multiple opponents at the same time. Feel free to drop in any time between 5 and 8 to play a game against Savage.
  • will host an from 6 to 8 p.m., inviting one and all to take the stage and show off their talents. Kensington Poet Laureate will be on hand for a reading, too. Two Pears is also offering discounts on dinner specials and selling bottles of wine at half price.
  • Adah Rose Gallery is hosting an arts and crafts soiree from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., inviting attendees to stop in and create something. Be sure to bring some art supplies.
  • will host children's author Irene Zevgolis from 5 to 8 p.m., who is selling her book The Dreamer and the Moon. For every book sold, $1 will be donated to .
