from January, will perform as part of Strathmore's Friday Night Eclectic. This even will serve as Garber's CD release party. 16 ounce PBR will be $2 from 8  to 9 p.m., and the performance starts at 9 p.m.

May 14: Mosaics Workshop

This Adult Education course will teach students the basics of making a mosaic. Hillary Sloate will instruct students in materials, tools, techniques, cutting, adhesion and history of mosaics. The course costs $10.

May 16: The Silent Musician

Composer, pianist and Catholic University Professor Andrew Earle Simpson will explore the art of silent film music during this adult education course. Simpson will also demonstrate the process by performing music to accompany a short silent film.

May 17 and 18: Historic Tea and Tour

Afternoon tea this week will be combined with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Mansion at Strathmore. Julianna Chitwood (violin), Marie Cole (cello) and Naomi Kusano (piano) will perform during tea.

May 19: The Father Book

Tonight at 7:30 p.m. Music in the Mansion presents Aaron Grad. Grad is an Alexandria, Va.-born composer and electric guitarist who will perform his newest work about his father who was a clavichordist. In addition to pieces composed by Grad, selections from Bach and Bartok will be performed, as well as Grad's arrangement of "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses.
