Donna Maertens from Postal Xpress N More talks about her morning routine and offers a few tips to help find a reputable shipping company.
Patch: Can you tell us a little bit about your background and experience?
Donna: I have been in the restaurant business for over 35 years; starting at the age of 15 and have served in many levels of executive management. In 2007, I opened a consulting business and began consulting franchisees for fast food restaurants. Still today, while continuing with the consulting business, I am the proud owner of Postal Xpress N More.

Donna: I start each day out with prayer and planning.
Patch: How are you involved in the community?

Donna: I don't currently have any involvement, but I plan on volunteering with the schools, churches and donating to both in the near future.
Patch: If you had to recommend three books what would they be and why?
Donna: Don't Sweat the Small Stuff, Good to Great and How to Win Friends & Influence People; these are great leadership books that show how to lead and influence people.
Patch: What is your definition of success?
Donna: Success is when others speak of you in a positive manner about what you have done for them. When you have made an impact on others.
Patch: What services does Postal Xpress N More offer?
Donna: Copying, shipping, faxing, notary, retail gift baskets, cards, gift wrapping, office supplies, fingerprinting, MVA services will soon to come, Western Union transfers and bill pay.
Patch: Can you tell us a little bit about your staff and their background?
Donna: Donnette Thigpen is a 20 year executive in the fast food business, and Jessica Mathes is a 35 year retired Army veteran.
Patch: How did you get involved in the shipping/logistics industry?
Donna: Picked an industry that was service based because I did not want to deal with inventory and I knew we had some great customer service individuals.
Patch: How does Postal Xpress N More stand out from the competition?
Donna: Our customer service and the fact that we are a true one stop shop for people's needs.
Patch: What three questions should readers ask when trying to find a reputable shipping company?
Donna: Who provides the best pricing? Who can deliver on time? Who takes the proper care of packages?
Patch: If someone is trying to ship a relative or friend a birthday gift, what three things can they do to make the shipping process as seamless as possible?
Donna: Make sure they have the correct address and get it to us early enough to get to the person in time.
Patch: What is your favorite aspect about your job?
Donna: Just having my own business.
