MD School Makes Decision After Classes Flood
The Monarch Global Academy in Laurel will switch to virtual learning this week after its classrooms were flooded over the weekend.
LAUREL, MD — The Monarch Global Academy in Laurel announced Monday that it would be transitioning to a virtual schedule after classrooms were flooded.
An update issued by the Anne Arundel County Public Schools revealed the Laurel campus will switch to virtual learning on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

The school district explained that the switch was "due to the length of time needed to clean the school and get it ready for in-person learning."
The latest comes after the decision was made to close the school to students and staff on Monday.

Officials announced Sunday that the school had been flooded after a pipe burst on the grounds. The severity of the damages has not been specified by school officials yet.
