“This program is an ideal opportunity to show our respect and pay tribute to our residents who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. There are many heroes in our hometown and we are proud to honor them. We are pleased to have the support of the Laurel Board of Trade, who will raise funds to provide the banners, which the City will install and maintain,” Mayor Moe says.
The Banners will be displayed on poles located on Cherry Lane or Van Dusen Road. Members of the military, law enforcement and fire and rescue organizations who have lost their lives, saved the life of another under heroic circumstances and other individuals who have made significant contributions in service to the City of Laurel or the Laurel Community may be nominated. Any City resident or business owner may nominate an honoree by sending a letter to Mayor Moe or to the President of the Laurel Board of Trade.
