City Of Laurel Hosts Hurricane Harvey Donation Drive

From The City of Laurel: It was the most powerful hurricane to hit Texas in more than 50 years. Experts say it could cost $180 billion dollars to repair the damage left behind by Hurricane Harvey.

The City of Laurel is teaming up with the First Baptist Church of Laurel and Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital to help the victims.

A Hurricane Harvey Donation Drive is set for October 7, 2017, from 11am to 4pm at the First Baptist Church located at 15000 First Baptist Lane.

Mayor Craig A. Moe Moe and Laurel City Councilmembers Leszcz, Nicholas, Crary, Smalls and Ricks are urging those who can to make a monetary donation, which will go directly to the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware, so they can purchase and assemble Crisis Support Buckets to help the victims in Texas and Louisiana. You can also donate money to the HOPE Animal-Assisted Crisis Response organization to support the pets affected by Harvey.

If you wish to donate items, the City will be collecting large bath towels, wash cloths, large combs (no rat tails), full-size bottles of shampoo, large tubes of toothpaste, adult toothbrushes and deodorant.
