Founder Norm Myers to be Honored at Odenton Day
The official dedication of Sappington Circle in the late Odenton Day founder's honor and other awards will be presented to his family.

The West County Chamber of Commerce will host a recognition ceremony for Odenton Day founder Norman G. Myers Sr. on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company. The ceremony is planned for 9:30 a.m. in conjunction with the annual Odenton Day celebration.
In addition to members of the Myers’ family, representatives will be present from many of the organizations Myers served, including AUSA, the Rotary Club of West Anne Arundel County, Boy Scouts of America, and Fort George G. Meade.
Sen. James “Ed” DeGrange, who was instrumental in having Sappington Circle dedicated in Myers’ name, and Del. Pam Beidle will be on hand to recognize Myers’ service and present a citation to his family on behalf of the District 32 delegation.

All involved felt that his longtime service and commitment to Odenton, and role as a founder of Odenton Day in its present form, made Odenton Day the perfect venue at which to recognize him posthumously, the Chamber says in a news release.
Odenton Day Schedule
Odenton Day is an annual celebration of the community sponsored by the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company, the Greater Odenton Improvement Association, the Odenton Heritage Society, and the West County Chamber of Commerce.

There is no cost to attend.
This year’s festival runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Odenton Volunteer Fire House, 1425 Annapolis Road.
Scheduled events include:
- Free hot dogs, chips, and drinks
- Music, dancing, and martial arts demonstrations
