Grassroots Seeks Food Items for People Living in the Shelter

Breakfast cereal, bag lunches, and bottled water needed for children and adults

Grassroots, Howard County’s 24-hour crisis intervention center and shelter for the homeless, is seeking breakfast and lunch items for its 50 residents.

Many generous individuals and groups prepare and deliver food on a regular schedule, and the meal calendar is often filled. During the summer months, however, vacations impact meal donations. Right now, Grassroots is looking for bag lunches, chips, bottled water, “kid friendly” cereals like Apple Jacks, Captain Crunch, Fruit Loops, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Lucky Charms.

Donations can be dropped off any time at 6700 Freetown Road in Columbia. For questions or to schedule a meal donation, please contact kitchen staff at 410-531-6006 or email at dorothyh@grassrootscrisis.org.
