Highway Administration Hosts MD 197 Info Meeting
SHA representatives will answer questions about the road expansion project on Sept. 16 in Bowie.

The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration is hosting an informational meeting for the MD 197 project in Bowie on Sept. 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., according to a news release.
The state plans to widen MD 197 to a multi-lane divided highway south of Kenhill Drive to north of the MD 450 intersection. The project will expand roadway capacity and also improve safety for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists in neighboring communities, the agency says.
Maps and other displays will depict the proposed improvements, and SHA representatives will discuss project-related issues and answer questions.
