Laurel Under Winter Weather Advisory
The advisory calls for snow, sleet and freezing rain.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for several areas, including Laurel, for snow, sleet and freezing rain Tuesday.
The advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday for Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.
Up to 1 inch of snow and 0.1 inch ice may accumulate, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds will be 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, the weather service reported.
Roads will be covered by snow and ice, making travel dangerous, according to the advisory.

Schools were closed Monday in most of Maryland due to winter weather, particularly ice, lingering from the weekend.
