Lost Laurel Found at Laurel Museum Open House

An exclusive " Lost Laurel" ornament and book, jewelry, holiday décor + a talk on "Gertie" are part of the Laurel Museum Holiday Open House

Laurel, Maryland… There’s a Lost Laurel theme to this year’s Holiday Open House at the Laurel Museum. A “Lost Laurel” ornament, Richard Friend’s Lost Laurel book, and a Laurel Matchbook poster, are among the many holiday gifts being offered at the Laurel Museum’s Holiday Open House. Friday December 5, 10am-2pm, Saturday Dec. 6, 10am-2pm and Sunday December 7, 1-4pm. In addition to the new “Lost Laurel” ornament, offerings include holiday and Laurel-themed gifts, wreaths, locally made jewelry, and crafts, kitchen textiles, and wooden toys, many of which will be offered exclusively at the Museum. Popular ornaments from previous years, including the Laurel Christmas Tree Ornament and the Laurel Cotton Mill will also be for sale. December also marks the “last chance” introductory price of the popular Lost Laurel book. Holiday items will also be sold through December 11 in the online shop. The Snow Hill Garden Club will create customized wreathes which must be pre-ordered by November 28.


Sunday December 7, at 12 Noon Faye Greene, author of the 2014 book Gertie, which is set in Laurel and covers a divorced woman’s tumultuous life from 1909 to 1946, will be on hand for a talk and to sign books. Her talk will be in the pool room adjacent to the Museum.
