Mango’s Returns To Laurel Friday

Mexican eatery debuts new location.

After a nearly four-month absence, Mango’s Grill has returned to Laurel.

The popular Mexican eatery closed its doors in April at its previous location along the 600 block of Washington Boulevard

But today, owners Ana Gladys Figueredo and Jorge Molina open a new space along 14600 Baltimore Avenue at the former Indian Gate Restaurant.

“I’m very anxious,” said Molina. “It’s nicer here.”

The new location is larger and has space to seat more about 50. Molina said the facility has a larger kitchen and he will be expanding the menu in the fall.

The new menu “will be a surprise,” he said.

Molina had hoped to have the new location opened in May but said legal issues in the lease agreement had to be ironed out. The restaurant is still finalizing its liquor license and will be serving as of Saturday, he said.

“It’s been hard. It’s a lot of paper work—it was not easy,” he said. “We probably won’t have liquor this weekend.”

Still, Molina said he’s been able to keep up with customers over the last few months via emails and phones. He said he’s confident that patrons will find their way to the new location.

“They’re anxious to come,” he said.
