The Metropolitan Opens Promenade Downtown
"Art & Play" sculptures designed by artist Mary Ann Mears
The Metropolitan Downtown Columbia, a new residential community, has opened the West Promenade, an almost one-acre community park facing The Mall in Columbia. The Metropolitan is a joint venture of The Howard Hughes Corporation and Kettler. The grand opening featured a ribbon-cutting by Greg Fitchitt of Howard Hughes, Howard County Council Chair Mary Kay Sigaty, Kevin Peterkin of Kettler, Robert C. Kettler of Kettler, artist Mary Ann Mears and Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman. Joining in the fun was State Senator Guy Guzzone. The promenade is open to the public.
