Over 1,000 Pounds of Food Collected for Grassroots
Columbia Association provides drop-off, volunteers provide pick-up

The Spring food collection sponsored by the Columbia Association, using four of its facilities and the Hawthorne Neighborhood Center as drop-off sites, netted over 1,000 pounds of nonperishable food for the Grassroots Day Resource Center pantry. The project was made possible by CA Brand Manager Megan Monahan, coordinator Steve Sternheimer of the Grassroots Board of Directors and food pick-up volunteers Barbara Fasteau , Al Levine, Sue Sternheimer Chuck Thomas and David Zeitzer. Grassroots is Howard County's 24-7 crisis intervention center and shelter for the homeless.
