• Florida post color guard retains championship title (legion.org) — Laurel's American Legion Post 60 color guard earned high marks at the American Legion's 2026 National Color Guard Contest, placing second in Advancing/Retiring of Colors and strong in Open Class. The overall championship went to Florida's Post 347, but Laurel's performance kept the city prominently represented on the national stage among top posts from across the country.
