🌱Retail Employer Hiring Local + Gov. Hogan Combats Omicron Surge
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Laurel.

Happy Saturday, people of Laurel! Let's get you all caught up to start today off on an informed note.
First, today's weather:
Mostly sunny and cold. High: 31 Low: 18.
Here are the top three stories today in Laurel:
- According to Patch reporter Kristin Danley-Greiner, a budget proposal from Prince George's County Public Schools CEO Monica Goldson appears to call for the consolidation of the county's alternative schools, dropping from five buildings down to three. The schools that would be consolidated under the plan are Tall Oaks Vocational High School in Bowie and Community Based Classroom in Lanham. When Jade Mason, who attends CBC, found out about the consolidation plan last week she was "shocked" completely. (Patch)
- Governor Larry Hogan recently highlighted encouraging trends among many key health metrics and announced additional COVID-19 actions to combat the surge of the COVID-19 Omicron variant. Gov. Hogan spoke about Maryland's efforts to procure additional rapid tests. He said that his administration is asking Marylanders to "remain vigilant" and continue staying safe by, "wearing a mask, avoiding crowds, watching your distance, staying home if you feel sick, and most importantly, getting tested, vaccinated, and boosted." (Maryland.gov)

Anyone over the age of 18 who has reliable transportation, a valid driver's license and preferably has experience working in retail, is welcome to apply! (Acosta Jobs)
