Traffic Alert: Lanes Closed on Beltway Overnight for Repairs

Late night drivers should plan for lane closures as work is done on a Beltway bridge, say officials, although all lanes should be open by Friday morning rush hour.

Crews are making emergency repairs to the northbound I-95/I-495 (outer loop of the Capital Beltway) bridge over Suitland Road between Suitland Parkway and Branch Avenue in Prince George’s County.

Workers will repair a deck puncture, which is similar to a pothole on the bridge, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration.

Beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, crews will block two left lanes three lanes to close beginning at 11 p.m. All lanes will be open no later than 5 a.m. Friday.
