Trick Or Treat Tips, Hours In Laurel

Laurel officials remind you how to safely trick or treat.

From The City of Laurel: Are your kids ready to trick or treat? Mayor Craig A. Moe has announced that Halloween’s “Trick or Treat” in the City of Laurel will be on Tuesday, October 31from 6:00 – 8:00pm.

From costumes to candy, Mayor Moe and Chief Richard McLaughlin of the Laurel Police Department encourage parents to follow these tips for a safe and fun-filled Halloween experience:

• Always accompany small children while visiting homes;

• Use LED lights to illuminate jack-o-lanterns;

• Be aware of vehicular traffic and look both ways when crossing a street;

• Provide children with flashlights to carry for lighting or have glow sticks as part of their costume;

• If your child is wearing a mask, make sure the eye holes are large enough so they can see out;

• Report any suspicious activity; and

• Warn children not to eat treats until an adult has examined the candy.

Mayor Moe reminds everyone to leave a porch light on if you wish to receive trick or treaters and he wishes all of the City’s little ghosts and goblins a ghoulishly good time this Halloween!
