Police Double Reward for Turf Motel Murder Suspect
Police offer $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of Kenneth Frizzell Diggs Jr.

LAUREL, MD — The Howard County Police Department has jacked up its reward for information about the suspect in a recent homicide at the Turf Motel in Laurel.
Kenneth Frizzell Diggs Jr., 47, of no fixed address, is suspected in the July 2 shooting of two people at the motel, police said. Witnesses reportedly told police that Diggs walked into the doorway of the victims' motel room and opened fire at the two individuals inside.
Authorities were called to the Turf Motel in the 9800 block of Washington Boulevard in Laurel around 4:30 a.m. for a report of two people shot on Saturday, July 2.

Amanda Duer, 29, of La Plata, was taken to Laurel Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Derick Henderson, 33, of Washington, D.C., was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where officials said he was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and released.
Police said Diggs knew the victims and had a dispute with them.

Authorities say they have an arrest warrant charging Diggs with murder, attempted murder, reckless endangerment, burglary and weapons violations. A reward of $5,000 was initially offered for his arrest.
Officials announced the amount had been doubled on Tuesday, Sept. 20 — now there is a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Diggs.
