Weather Alert: Storms to Hit Howard County
The National Weather Service says rain, lightning on the way.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for northwestern Howard County until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The storm is capable of producing winds greater than 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service, which encouraged people to stay away from doors and windows. Parts of Frederick and Montgomery counties are also included in the warning area.
In addition, there’s a severe thunderstorm watch in effect for all of Howard County as scattered storms move through the area until 10 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The watch includes Howard, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Baltimore and Prince George’s counties, according to the report.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for southern Howard County until 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, the weather service reported.
The National Weather Service said to stay indoors and stay away from windows. The storm is capable of producing cloud-to-ground lightning, the weather service reported, and if people hear thunder, they should move indoors immediately.
