6 People Injured In Black Friday Fire In Montgomery Village

The four adults and two children have non-life-threatening injuries, according to the fire department.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MD — Six people were injured in a fire at a Montgomery Village apartment building on Black Friday.

The fire happened around 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 29 at Cider Mill Apartments, a three-story building at 18205 Lost Knife Road. Around 75 firefighters responded to the third-floor fire, and the building was evacuated, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Pete Piringer.

Four adults and two kids were taken to the hospital, and all have non-life-threatening injuries. Firefighters helped several residents and pets from the building.

The fire department says the bulk of the fire happened in a living room and kitchen. The origin point is believed to be the living room. The fire's cause has not yet been identified.

According to WJLA, Red Cross was on the scene to assist residents. There was no immediate word on displaced residents.
