Montgomery Village Fire Displaces 5 People: MCFRS
A townhouse in Montgomery Village caught on fire Tuesday afternoon, according to fire officials.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MD — Five people have been displaced after a fire tore through a townhouse in Montgomery Village Tuesday afternoon, fire officials said.
Montgomery County firefighters responded to the 20200 block of Lea Pont Court around 1:15 p.m. and were able to quickly knock down the blaze. No one was injured in the fire, according to Pete Piringer, a spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service. However, 5 people were displaced from their home.
Piringer posted pictures and video of the fire on Twitter, saying improperly discarded smoking material was likely the cause.
