• Montgomery County Student PSA Contest Offers $5,000 Top Prize (mocoshow.com) — Middle and high school students in Montgomery Village can enter the county's Speak Up, Save a Life PSA contest for a shot at a $5,000 top prize while raising awareness about fentanyl and drug misuse. Open to grades 6–12 who live in or attend school in Montgomery County, the contest also offers MCPS students 10 SSL hours and multiple cash awards. 
• Montgomery County Launches 2026 Online Community Survey (montgomerycountymd.gov) — Montgomery Village residents 18 and older are invited to take Montgomery County's 2026 online community survey, open through Oct. 19, to rate local services and quality of life. Your responses on topics like amenities, communication, and recycling will help shape future budget and policy decisions that affect daily life across the county, including your neighborhood.
• Montgomery County buys its first e-bikes (thebanner.com) — Montgomery County has rolled out its first 70 Capital Bikeshare e-bikes, expanding options at stations that Montgomery Village riders already use to get around without a car. Officials say surging local ridership and a pending grant for 55 more e-bikes could further improve short trips, cut traffic, and lower transportation costs for residents who join discounted membership programs.
