Police Search For Montgomery Village Bank Robbery Suspect

Police are searching for a man that robbed the Sandy Spring Bank in Montgomery Village Monday.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MD — Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Monday afternoon at the Sandy Spring Bank.

At about 2:18 p.m., officers were called to the Sandy Spring Bank located at 9921 Stedwick Road for the report of a bank robbery that had just occurred.

Investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and passed a note that demanded money. The note implied that the suspect had a weapon, police said. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.

Anyone with information about the suspect or this bank robbery is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
