• 27 Law Enforcement Officers Graduate From University of Maryland's DUI Institute (thebaynet.com) — New Carrollton residents should know that officers from their own police department just completed an intensive 40-hour DUI enforcement training at the University of Maryland. The statewide program focuses on advanced techniques to spot and stop impaired drivers, including updated sobriety testing and countermeasures for alcohol and cannabis. Officials say these graduates will help strengthen traffic safety in communities across Maryland, including New Carrollton. 
• Parts of Wisconsin Avenue, Rockville Pike get temporary bus lanes for upcoming Red Line shuttles (bethesdamagazine.com) — Major Metro Red Line construction in Bethesda and along Rockville Pike this summer is tied to building a new mezzanine that will eventually connect to the Purple Line running from Bethesda to New Carrollton. When the Purple Line opens, likely in 2027, New Carrollton will serve as a key terminus linking riders to multiple Metro lines, MARC, Amtrak, and local buses, expanding regional options for local commuters.
