Annual Healthy Food Drive to Kick Off in Baltimore

BALTIMORE (April 20, 2016)—Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is once again leading a 10-day campaign to collect non-perishable, nutritious food to help stock Baltimore area food pantries. The Healthy Food Drive will run from Friday, April 29 – Sunday, May 8 and will help support families in need across the region.

Agents, clients, employees, and anyone interested in donating may drop off food to a Coldwell Banker® branch office or to a Coldwell Banker open house. At the end of the campaign, Coldwell Banker will distribute the donations to regional food pantries. Last year, the campaign resulted in over 66,000 pounds of food donations.

The need for food donations is dire over the summer months as supplies have been depleted from winter and after Easter. Many children who depend on government-subsidized breakfast and lunch programs at their school do not have access to healthy meals during the summer school break.

The Healthy Food Drive is unique in its focus on nutritious foods. Oftentimes, low-income families do not have access to healthy foods that support children’s needs and development.
