Apex Learning Launches Tutorials Developed to Raise Achievement of Maryland Students
Maryland Tutorials improve outcomes on HSA and MSA

Apex Learning, the leading provider of blended and virtual learning solutions to the nation’s schools, announces Maryland Tutorials. Designed specifically for the Maryland College and Career-Ready Standards, Tutorials provide teachers with real-time student and class performance data that pinpoints by standard how students are doing. Students engage in learning focused on what they need to know to pass their courses and to improve performance on PARCC, HSA, and MSA. In a national study, Tutorials have been proven to increase student performance by 20 percentile points.
With an interactive app-like design, Maryland Tutorials offer a modular instructional approach that engages today’s tech-savvy students. The Learn It, Try It, Review It, and Test It components provide students targeted instruction while addressing varied learning styles and individual preferences. Struggling learners are supported by individualized learning plans, concise instruction, and practice with scaffolds and feedback that support student understanding of concepts. Maryland Tutorials are available for 6th to 12th grade English and math, U.S. history, and biology.
“We regularly hear from districts in Maryland that the use of Tutorials drives better academic outcomes,” said Cheryl Vedoe, CEO, Apex Learning. “Now with the added benefit of knowing student performance by Maryland standards, teachers can easily identify the knowledge gaps before students fall behind.”
