
With the region under a winter storm warning, Baltimore City Public Schools announced it would be canceling its scheduled professional development day on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning, which is in effect until noon Tuesday, calling for 5 to 8 inches of snow in Baltimore.
On Monday, Baltimore City Public Schools were closed for Presidents Day.

All schools and offices will continue to be closed on Tuesday, according to the announcement.

Transportation officials were asking people not to travel as snow was falling Monday night.
“Travel is discouraged,” the State Highway Administration advised at 8:15 p.m. Monday. “Temperatures are very low. Snow continues to fall.”
