Delays Clear After I-83 Vehicle Fire
Traffic is flowing again on Interstate 83 south after temporary closure Monday, Baltimore City Department of Transportation says.

BALTIMORE, MD — Delays have cleared from Interstate 83 Monday after a vehicle fire caused the temporary closure of all southbound lanes. The vehicle fire was first reported around 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11.
The expressway was closed to southbound traffic past the Coldspring Lane exit, transportation officials reported.
The vehicle that caught fire was a tractor-trailer, according to WBAL.

Due to "major traffic delays," the Baltimore City Department of Transportation advised drivers to take alternate routes if possible.
While one lane had reopened, traffic remained at a crawl after noon.

After 12:30 p.m., city officials reported traffic was again moving, and conditions were improving near Coldspring Lane.
