Man Stabbed Mother with Steak Knife Over Meds: Police
A Baltimore man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed his mother during an altercation, Anne Arundel Police say.

A Baltimore man who allegedly crept into his mother’s bedroom with a steak knife to steal medication, then stabbed her in a confrontation, is under arrest police say.
Anne Arundel County Police were called to the woman’s house in the100 block of Edgevale Road in Brooklyn Park about 7:30 a.m. Thursday for a report of a stabbing.

The 60-year-old victim told police that her son -- Paul Jeffrey Tond, 31, of 133 Edgevale Road West in Baltimore – had stabbed her.
Investigators say Tond entered his mother’s room in an attempt to take her medication. During an altercation, the victim was punched in the face and then stabbed. Police say Tond also held the bedroom door closed so his mother could not leave to get help.

Officers surrounded Tond’s house and he was taken into custody without incident.
The victim was transported to Shock Trauma for treatment of a stab wound to her upper body that is believed to be non-life threatening.
Tond was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a deadly weapon, robbery, false imprisonment, and theft under $100.
