It was not business as usual at one Baltimore shopping center Thursday morning.

While most stores in the mall do not open until 10 a.m., there are several offices — including the Mayor's Office of Employment and Development — inside the building that were operating at the time the suspicious item was reported.
The evacuation was said to be brief, with one worker at the scene telling Patch that people were readmitted at approximately 10:15 a.m. The security office, reached by phone, said: "The mall is open for business."
