MOVEABLE FEAST TO CELEBRATE $5,000 GRANT FROM BJ'S CHARITABLE FOUNDATION WITH UNVEILING OF NEW REFRIGERATED VAN

BJ’s Wholesale Club Team Members to volunteer at Moveable Feast to celebrate a $5,000 grant from BJ’s Charitable Foundation to purchase a NEW refrigerated van. The NEW van will enable Moveable Feast to better serve an estimated 647 clients in Baltimore City and the surrounding counties as well as the Eastern Shore.

The funding received is part of a $100,000 grant from BJ’s Wholesale Club’s to commemorate its partnership with Meals on Wheels America. Meals on Wheels America members in select markets, including Moveable Feast, were asked to submit a creative grant application to illustrate how they could use a $5,000 grant from BJ’s Charitable Foundation. In total, the funding will enable 16 local Meals on Wheels program recipients to increase the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food that will result in over 525,000 more meals served to homebound seniors per year.

Moveable Feast delivered 847,680 nourishing meals to 5,721 clients in 2015 at no cost to the client. They deliver in Baltimore City, the five surrounding counties and all the nine counties of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Moveable Feast's vision is to feed people, fight disease and foster hope.
