Pamela Gilmour Elected Alzheimer’s Association Board Vice President
Accomplished financial planner shares mission connection with the nonprofit
TIMONIUM, Md.–The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Maryland Chapter has elected financial planning executive, Pamela Gilmour, vice president of its board of directors.
“Because my family has been personally impacted by Alzheimer’s disease, I am so pleased to be in a position to help improve care and support for families and accelerate research efforts for effective treatments,” said Gilmour, who joined the board in 2015.
A top fundraiser for the Association, she also has run half marathons in the Baltimore Marathon, yielding over $32,000 in contributions. Further combining her athletic and fundraising prowess, she recently coordinated a team event for The Longest Day, where Association donors worked out with top personal trainers.

With 28 years of industry experience, Gilmour is the founder and CEO of Financial Fitness, a Towson-based financial services firm whose goal is “to empower people to plan their life, get organized and protect what they earn and own.”
She previously was a financial planner at Maryland Financial Group, First Financial Group and Wealth Advocacy Partners, where she also oversaw business development and ultimately became CEO. Earlier in her career, she held accounting/auditing /sales/management positions at E I DuPont, CompuStaff, Control Data, Capital Bank and Coulter Electronics.

A current member of the Kennedy Krieger planned giving committee and the Towson Chamber of Commerce board of directors, Gilmour has served on the Women in Insurance and Financial Services national board, growing the organization to over 1,000 members and helping launch several new chapters, including one in Maryland.
Recognized for her service in the industry and the community, Gilmour received Smart CEO's 2015 Brava Award and was a featured subject in Financial Services - Women at the Top. In 2014, she received National Association of Women Business Owners-Baltimore Chapter’s Woman of the Year Award and was named one of 50 Women to Watch in The Baltimore Sun.
In addition to receiving a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bucknell University, she has earned many certifications including CPA* (Certified Public Accountant), CASL® (Certified Advisor for Senior Living), CFP (Certified Financial Planner), CLU® (Chartered Life Underwriter) and ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant).
Gilmour resides in Phoenix, Md. with Gary Jackson, her fiancé, and Talbots, their Great Dane/Pointer mix.
