Pompeian Olive Oil invests in new cooking spray production line, bringing new business and jobs to Maryland

The Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership announces recent success of Baltimore-based Pompeian Olive Oil Company

Columbia, Md. – The Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership, supporting and celebrating companies that invest in Maryland, is pleased to announce the success of Pompeian Olive Oil Company, a Baltimore-based olive oil manufacturer.

Founded amidst the hills of Tuscany, Pompeian established its headquarters in Baltimore in 1906. The company began as the only national brand of olive oil to import olive oil in bulk to be blended and bottled fresh daily here in the U.S. Recently, in an effort to increase both its capacity and quality, Pompeian invested $600,000 into a new cooking spray production line to bring the entire process in-house.

Pompeian’s investment into the new cooking spray production line demonstrates the company’s commitment to bringing new business and manufacturing to Maryland. Four new machines were installed to create a seamless manufacturing line, allowing Pompeian to produce 12,000 cans per nine hours of machine run-time. This investment, which took only eight months to complete, also allowed the company to add four new jobs to the facility.
