Porch Roofs Collapse on 30th Street, Officials Say
National Guard, specially trained rescue personnel respond to roof collapses, Baltimore Office of Emergency Management reports.

BALTIMORE, MD – Multiple porches are buckling on East 30th Street Saturday night, drawing specially trained rescuers to assist, according to the Baltimore Office of Emergency Management.
The Baltimore Fire Department’s special rescue team is at the scene of the porch collapses in the 1700 block of East 30th Street, city officials said at 6:30 p.m.
Vehicles from the Maryland National Guard are also helping, assisting first responders in accessing the location.

The city’s Phase III snow emergency plan just went into effect at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, restricting travel on local roads to emergency vehicles only so crews can clear the massive amounts of snow.
More than 2 feet of snow has fallen across Baltimore, according to unofficial reports to the National Weather Service.
