South Baltimore Learning Center 25th Anniversary Gala
Cocktail-style fundraiser with dinner, dancing and auctions to support adult literacy/career preparation services.
BALTIMORE –The South Baltimore Learning Center (SBLC) will celebrate its 25th Anniversary casino-style with a gala celebration, Saturday, Apr. 16, from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m., at Horseshoe Baltimore (1525 Russell St., 21230).
Presented by M&T Bank, this cocktail-style event will feature mixed drinks, wine, beer and signature dishes provided by Johnny Sánchez, Jack Binion’s Steak, Guy Fieri’s Baltimore Kitchen + Bar, Matsuri, Dipasquale’s, and Da Mimmo Italian Restaurant.
Silent and live auctions will have a variety of items up for bid, including: a Behind the Scenes Tour of Ravens Training Camp for Four, Party in the Mayor’s Skybox at Camden Yards, One-Week Stay in a Paris apartment, One-Week Stay in Steamboat Springs, Co; Private Behind-The-Scenes Tour of M&T Bank Stadium, FOX45 Weather Kid Wednesday appearance, and restaurant and attraction gift certificates galore.

Adding to the fun, guests can learn from the pros with instructional table gaming, strike poses in a state-of-the-art green screen photobooth, be amazed by the tricks of a sleight-of-hand artist, test their knowledge in an interactive GED challenge activity and dance to the sounds of Small Miracle, who also will perform a Frank Sinatra showcase.
With Fox 45 Chief Meteorologist Vytas Reid as emcee and Vicki Pepper (Assistant Attorney General, State of Maryland) and Mary Carol Ceselsky (partner at Tavenner Financial) as event co-chairs, the Gala also will recognize 25 learners/ graduates, as well as donors, supporters and friends of SBLC.

A special awards presentation will pay to tribute to corporate honoree, BGE, and individual honoree, Susan Sachs Fleishman (SBLC Advisory Board Member) for their longtime commitment, dedication and support for the Center and its adult learners.
