Two Killed in Fire at Ravens Staffer's Home: Reports

The wife and daughter of a Ravens security team member have reportedly died after weekend fire at their northeast Baltimore residence.

The wife and daughter of a Ravens staffer reportedly died as the result of a fire early Sunday morning.

The blaze occurred at the home of Ellison James, a member of the Baltimore Ravens security team who used to be a Baltimore Police officer, according to WBAL.

His wife Charlene and daughter Sage James perished at the hospital after fire broke out at approximately 2 a.m. in their home in the 3200 block of East Northern Parkway, WBAL reported.

The son of Charlene and Ellison James was able to escape the blaze, the TV station reported.

After the Ravens beat the St. Louis Rams, 16-13, Coach John Harbaugh asked the team on a “somber note” to pray for the family and in particular, Sage, who was at the time hospitalized due to her injuries. She later died, according to Fox 45.

Authorities were investigating the cause of the fire, which overtook the first and second floors of the home, Fox 45 reported. Two people who had to be rescued were on the second floor, while one person got to safety independently, according to the report.
