Does your child have a literary hero? Who is it and why do you think they are attached to that character?

Jeannette Lemieux: My sons, 'hero' is Percy Jackson from Rick Riordan series of books—Percy Jackson and the Olympians. He is attached to this character because like my son, Percy is intelligent, has dyslexia, can't focus on school work, gets angry easily and hates school. Percy then embarks on a series of adventures with his friends where he has to use his courage, wits/knowledge to battle and out-wit various 'monsters' and gods. 

My daughter's 'hero' would probably be J.K. Rowling. My daughter loves to write and has done since an early age. She loved the Harry Potter books—but even more she related to J.K. Rowling's personal story.
