1 Dead, 2 Injured After Jessup Hit-And-Run Crash Involving Police Cruiser

The fatal hit-and-run incident occurred after an Infiniti driver collided with an occupied Howard County police cruiser that was parked.

JESSUP, MD โ€” One person is dead and two others were hospitalized over the weekend after a hit-and-run crash took place in Jessup, along the Howard-Anne Arundel County border.

The hit-and-run incident broke out around 2 a.m. Sunday, moments after a 2018 Infiniti Q60 struck a parked Howard County police cruiser that had been occupied.

A release by the Office of the Maryland Attorney General stated the police officer pursued the Infiniti for about a mile before the vehicle ran off the road and crashed into a retaining wall.

The Infiniti driver was pronounced dead at the scene and two passengers were hospitalized, the release said. Both individuals remain in stable condition.

None of the individuals involved in the crash have been identified.

The case remains under investigation by the Independent Investigations Division of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General.

IID said the name of the driver could be released as soon as this week, with body camera footage from the case being released at a later time.
