Fire Causes $120K Damage To Millersville Home: Officials
The Red Cross is assisting 11 adults and one juvenile who have been displaced because of the fire.
MILLERSVILLE, MD — A fire broke out Tuesday night shortly before 10 p.m. at a home located at 182 Obrecht Road. Emergency dispatchers received multiple 911 calls from an occupant and a passerby. Anne Arundel County firefighters first to arrive on the scene reported heavy smoke coming from the front of the home and heavy fire conditions at the back of the home. The single-family home had been modified to make two separate residences.
According to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, a fire in one of the residences within the home was brought under control in approximately 35 minutes. Estimated dollar loss is $120,000 and one resident suffered a minor injury but was not taken to the hospital. The Red Cross is assisting 11 adults and one juvenile who have been displaced because of the fire. The fire, which is believed to have started in a bedroom, is under investigation by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit.
